Microscope service

Repairs, servicing and upgrades for microscopes of any make — including instruments we did not sell.

What the workshop does

We take an instrument apart, clean it, service it and put it back together — the optical system, the objectives and eyepieces, and the mechanics.

How the service works

  1. Tell us the make, the model and what it is doing — in your own words. A serial number helps if you have one.

  2. The instrument reaches the workshop and we open it up and assess it. What is actually wrong is often not what it looked like.

  3. You get a written quote for the work we found, before any of it is done.

  4. You approve it or you turn it down. Either way the instrument goes back to you — declining costs you nothing but the carriage.

Adding to a microscope you already own

Your microscope

Not every module fits every microscope — we will tell you what is possible on yours.

Imaging

A camera on the trinocular port, so what is under the objective reaches a screen — for a whole class at once, or for a record.

Phase contrast

A set of phase objectives and a phase condenser to go with them.

Dark field

A dark-field condenser, swapped in for the standard one.

Fluorescence

An epi-fluorescence illuminator and a filter cube chosen for your stain.

What it costs

Every job is priced individually, after the assessment. There is no rate card: two microscopes with the same symptom are rarely the same repair.
